BMW PGA Wentworth

Had a fun day following round Danny Willett and Michael Vaughan at the BMW celebrity PGA at Wentworth last week. Tom Wharton from Barrington Ayre is not only a great client but a good mate, and the main job was to get some shots of Marcus Fraser and Michael Vaughan wearing Barrington Ayre's new Golf range of clothing. I decided to shoot the stills with a video camera in slow motion 4K. This had two benefits, unlike all the other press photographers with loud shutters I could capture all the action before the players are midway through their swings (when press are allowed to start clicking). Shooting at 100fps with a 180 degree shutter angle meant that the actual shutter speed for each frame was 200fps, which was plenty sharp enough to grab some great stills. The second benefit being we had a whole load of video to play with as well, which made a nice addition to the Barrington Ayre instagram account. All in all a great day and I may have fallen in love with a new way of shooting photos.....
